September 2022 Update: Providing aid to Syrian refugees, against all odds

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.

Dear brothers and sisters, an update of our ministry in the Middle East.

Since 2015, we have been providing humanitarian aid to the refugees in Kurdistan; to the Muslims, and the Yazidi, such as food, clothes, medical supplies, school uniforms, computers, sewing machines and fabric. Also, teaching women sewing and helping them to start a small business that they could support themselves. We let the light shine in the darkness, we planted seeds, and we have seen the fruits…

Due to the pandemic, and the war in Ukraine, many organizations fall short to provide aids to the Syrian refugees in Kurdistan. In October 2021 we received a request from the Syrian refugee camp manager asking for help, such as dry food, clothes and medical supplies. We were able to send a shipment, but we didn’t know about the food restriction; the Iraqi government does not allowed food import unless is from Turkey! While we were thinking how to solve the problem, my brother Mohammad who lives in Lebanon, and who didn’t speak to me for many years due to my conversion, called asking for help. Instantly, called the shipping company and changed the direction of the shipment where it was hold in Dubai to send it to Lebanon. They received it with great appreciation. They know that the help is coming from the church; my brother is thankful for the infidel sister…

November 2021 we started to prepare a 40 foot container of dry food, medical supplies, and clothes to ship to Beirut, Lebanon. Regardless of our facilities limitation to do such thing, the Lord was leading the way. We bought over 30,000 pound of rice, beans, sugar, flour and other items, mostly were from Blessings of Hope. We asked them to store the items at their warehouse until the container is ready for pick up. Unto organization donated wheelchairs, walkers, and diapers. Due to the crisis we were facing, everything was delayed. It took four months for the shipment to arrive to Lebanon; they get it out of the port for less than a month, and the cost to declare it was less than $2000. It was a miracle! Because usually it takes months to get the shipment out of the water and cost usually is around $ 20.000 to declare it. The government is not functioning accordingly, and people are on strike. So what happened, they actually bribed someone who works at the port to sign the documents and the shipment was cleared. The container was sealed, no one opened it, inspected or steal anything…Those who declare it were amazed and believed that it’s a miracle from God!

Many families were blessed with the items. My brother called me, he said that I have changed him, he wants to help people; the Lord is working in his heart. He said, when they start distributing the items, he took food and clothes to the orphanage where he grew up and live there for a decade…That touched my heart!

They were able to distribute the items to the north and to areas where the need is great, and no one is reaching out to these people. As the situation is getting worse in Lebanon, they are asking for constant help. Now, we are in a process to ship another container. Here are some images of the shipment.

God Is Able to set the prisoners free!

Thank you for your prayers and support.
